What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to store. The browser sends it back with later requests so the site can recognize that browser for a limited purpose.
The session cookie
The quote form uses a session cookie named EVSESSID. It is set when the contact page prepares the form, and also when the owner opens the private sign-in for saved requests. Reading the other pages does not, by itself, set it. It is the studio’s own cookie. It is separate from any cookie Cloudflare sets while delivering or protecting the site.
What it contains
The cookie contains a session identifier. It does not contain your name, email, phone, message, or the form’s security token. The server keeps the session under that identifier. For a quote, the session holds the security token and the time the form was prepared. The token is placed in the form and sent back with the request. If the private sign-in is used, the same session remembers whether that sign-in is active.
How long it lasts
EVSESSID is a session cookie. Its lifetime is zero, so the browser keeps it until the browser ends the session, rather than for a fixed number of days. It is sent only to this site and applies to the whole site. Scripts on the page cannot read it. It uses SameSite=Lax, which limits when the browser will send it from another website. It is marked Secure when the page is served over HTTPS.
What it is used for
The cookie lets the site protect the quote form. It also lets the site recognize the owner after he signs in to the private list of saved requests. It is not an advertising identifier.
Cloudflare
oxfcei.com is served through Cloudflare. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, which delivers the pages and helps protect the site from abusive traffic. Cloudflare also hides the email address shown on the page from automated scraping. That does not deliver or filter mail. Cloudflare may place its own cookies while serving and protecting the site. Those cookies are separate from the session cookie, and OXFCEI Films does not use them for advertising. Their names and lifetimes are described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
OXFCEI Films does not add analytics or advertising cookies, and the site does not show a consent banner for an optional studio cookie. The record of recent submission times stays on the server. It is not a cookie.
If you block cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking EVSESSID leaves the other pages open, but the quote form cannot be sent, because the submission cannot be matched to a session. Blocking Cloudflare’s cookies can interfere with loading or protecting the site. You can still write to [email protected] or call +1 (312) 929-3229.
